Vice President Dr. W.K Mutale Nalumango has this morning officially launched the 2026 Luapula Investment Exposition, saying the province is ready for investment, industrialisation, and economic transformation.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Nalumango highlighted Luapula’s rich natural resources, fertile land, and abundant water, which have remained underutilised. She attributed this to energy deficits, which are now being addressed with the Mbumba Solar Power Plant evacuating 14 megawatts into the national grid.

“The energy challenge is now being firmly addressed… By end of April, the full 50 megawatts will be evacuated, far exceeding Luapula’s current energy demand,” she said.

The Vice President cited opportunities in agriculture, mining, fisheries, and tourism, citing Luapula’s vast arable land, reliable water sources, and iconic attractions like Lumangwe and Ntumba Chushi waterfalls.

Her Honour the Vice President urged investors to partner with small-scale miners and tap into value addition industries, saying “Luapula is open for business, Luapula is ready for value addition, Luapula is ready for investment.”

The 2026 Luapula Investment Forum and Exposition will take place from April 20-24, 2026, in Mansa, under the theme “Unlocking Luapula’s Potential: Investment Opportunities for Sustainable Economic Growth”.

President Hakainde Hichilema will grace the main event.
