The government of the Republic of Slovenia has congratulated Zambia for attaining 60 years of Independence.

The Slovenian Speaker of the National Assembly, Urska Zupancic extended peace to the people of Zambia when Vice President Mutale Nalumango paid a courtesy call on her. Ms Zupancic also commended Zambia for prioritising issues of water and participating at the 10th session of the meeting of the water convention. “We are very happy to have you here and as you celebrate 60 years, we wish to extend peace and prosperity to the people of Zambia”, she said.

The two leaders later held closed door meetings for purposes of enhancing bilateral relations. Mrs Nalumango was then introduced to members of Parliament who accorded her a round of applause for gracing the house with her presence. The Vice President who is accompanied by senior government officials in Slovenia is attending the 10th session of the UN water conference.
